Oil: A City Gallery will focus outside the city with "Human/Nature," a show of portraits and natural landscapes debuting with winter Gallery Night on Friday, January 20, 2023, and running through March. Gallery debut originals from founding artist Hal Koenig and resident artist Richard Patt and a new series of brilliant custom canvas reproductions featuring natural landscapes from Hal will brighten the winter from 5 to 9 p.m. on Gallery Night and again on Gallery Saturday, January 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Human/Nature" is an opportunity for art lovers and collectors who love Richard's traditional agrarian scenes or who have wanted natural scenes from Hal for their homes or offices. Working off a find of high-resolution images carefully captured by Hal of his own work, Michigan art photographer and giclee specialist Steven Huyser-Honig has crafted full-size canvases nearly identical to Hal's original paintings, bringing classic scenes from throughout Hal's portfolio to new life. We're delighted to offer these canvases in limited, numbered runs at a fraction of the current price of Hal's original and resale work, certified on the reverse by the gallery as being produced from the proprietary images of Hal's estate. Among the first run of custom reproductions is the beautiful "Evening River" pictured at right.
Visit the opening of "Human/Nature" at Oil in the first-floor atrium of the Marshall Building, corner of Water and Buffalo in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward, on winter Gallery weekend and through the month of March. And prepare for a special treat starting with spring Gallery Night in April!
We hope to see you soon.
